Lauren Holly is an American actress. Her roles include the films Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Dumb and Dumber, Beautiful Girls, and What Women Want, and the shows Picket Fences, NCIS, and Motive.
Her father, Grant Innes Holly, is a screenwriter and a professor of literature at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Her mother, Michael Ann Holly, is an art historian, who was the Starr Director of Research and Academic Program at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, and a professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She was raised in Geneva, New York.
She has three children, who are adopted, with her former husband, Canadian investment banker Francis Greco. Lauren acquired Canadian citizenship while married to Francis.
Lauren’s paternal grandfather was Grant Wilson Holly (the son of Grant Brooker Holly and Ellen Margareth Lytthans). Lauren’s grandfather Grant was born in New York. Lauren’s great-grandfather Grant was the son of Grant Holly and Augusta Emily Brooker, and had deep roots in the U.S. Ellen was the daughter of Danish immigrants, Harry Emil Lytthans and Annie Grashoff.
Lauren’s paternal grandmother was Marjorie Innes (the daughter of Walter Ingram Innes Sr. and Doris Landsborough Fraser). Marjorie was born in Staten Island, New York. Walter was a Scottish emigrant, from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, and was the son of William Paterson Innes and Margaret Clark Grant. Doris was an emigrant from Liverpool, Lancashire, England, and was the daughter of Samuel Fraser and Emma Grant Warren. Doris had English, Scottish, Irish, and Cornish ancestry.
Lauren’s maternal grandfather was named George Mueller.
