Josh Ruben is an American actor and filmmaker. He has written, directed, and starred in the film Scare Me, directed the film Werewolves Within, and co-directed Death to 2021. He also starred in the film A Wounded Fawn.

His maternal half-sister is singer, songwriter, and pianist Rachael Yamagata.

Josh’s paternal grandfather was Irving Saul Ruben/Rubinstein (the son of Harry Rubinstein and Mary/May Weinbrown). Irving was born in New York, to Jewish parents from Poland, under Russian Empire.

Josh’s paternal grandmother was Cecile Sternberg (the daughter of Benjamin Sternberg and Bella Natalie Fischbach/Fischback). Cecile was born in New York, to a Jewish family. Benjamin was born in Austria, the son of Herman Sternberg and Hannah Freedman. Bella was born in New York, to parents from Austria, David Fischbach and Sarah Cohen.

Josh’s maternal grandfather was Daniel Charles Kleine (the son of Charles Wilhelm Kleine and Lillian Louise “Lulu” MacDaniel). Daniel was born in New York. Charles was born in New York, to German parents, Carl August Kleine and Johanna Wellman. Lillian was born in New York, the daughter of Nathaniel T. MacDaniel and Sarah Louisa Taylor.

Josh’s maternal grandmother was Marie C. Lieto (the daughter of Joseph Lieto and Anna Amato). Marie was born in New York, to Italian parents, who were from Minori, province of Salerno, Campania.
