Jon Watts is an American director of film, television, music videos, and commercials. He has directed the films Clown (2014), Cop Car, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, the latter the thus far highest-grossing domestic release of the 2020s. He also co-wrote his first three films. He has directed episodes of the shows Onion News Network and The Old Man.

His father was born in New York, of English and Bohemian Czech descent. His mother was born in London, England, with Irish and English ancestry. He is married to talent agent and producer Dianne McGunigle.

Jon’s paternal grandfather was Lorenzo Leonison “Renzo” Watts (the son of Isaac Hollingsworth Watts and Columbia Louvonia “Lummy” Haynes). Lorenzo was born in Alabama.

Jon’s paternal grandmother was Rose Pfeiffer (the daughter of Josef/Joseph Pfeiffer and Marie Poder). Rose was born in New York, to Bohemian Czech parents.

Jon’s maternal grandfather was surnamed Fitzgerald.

Jon’s maternal grandmother was surnamed Chapman.

    How many rednecks gave Italian names to their sons? Also Pfeiffer may indicate German ancestry.
