Joe Lombardo is an American politician. A Republican, he has been Governor of Nevada, since January 2, 2023. He was previously Sheriff of Clark County, from January 5, 2015 to January 2, 2023.

Joe was born in Sapporo, Japan, to a U.S. Air Force father. He lived in Japan for most of his early life, before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1976. He is married to real estate broker Donna Alderson. He has one child.

Joe’s paternal grandfather was Joseph John Lombardo (the son of Giuseppe/Joseph Lombardo and Anna Tempera). Joe’s grandfather Joseph was born in Illinois, to Italian parents. Giuseppe was the son of Salvatore Lombardo and Rosalia Sutera. Anna was born in San Benedetto del Tronto, Marche.
