Steve Buscemi is an American actor, director, and writer. His roles include the films Parting Glances, Mystery Train, Miller’s Crossing, In the Soup, Reservoir Dogs, Airheads, Pulp Fiction, Billy Madison, Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead, Fargo, John Carpenter’s Escape from L.A., Con Air, The Wedding Singer, The Big Lebowski, 28 Days, Domestic Disturbance, The Grey Zone, The Island (2005), Youth in Revolt, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, The Dead Don’t Die, and Hubie Halloween; and television’s Lonesome Dove, The Sopranos, 30 Rock, Boardwalk Empire, Horace and Pete, and Miracle Workers. He has directed the films Trees Lounge, which he also wrote; Animal Factory, Lonesome Jim, Interview (2007), which he co-wrote; and The Listener; and also starred in all but the third and fifth. He has also directed episodes of Oz, The Sopranos, Nurse Jackie, 30 Rock, Park Bench with Steve Buscemi, Portlandia, and Miracle Workers. Steve was an NYC firefighter.

Steve is the son of Dorothy (Wilson), a restaurant hostess, and John Buscemi, a sanitation worker. He was married to filmmaker, choreographer, and artist Jo Andres, until her death. The couple has a son. His brother is actor Michael Buscemi.

Steve’s paternal grandfather was Giuseppe/Joseph Buscemi (the son of Santo Buscemi and Rosalia Palagonia Tortorici). Giuseppe was born in Menfi, Sicily, Italy. Santo was the son of Calogero Buscemi and Vittoria Butera. Rosalia was the daughter of Michele Turturici and Antonina Giovinco.

Steve’s paternal grandmother was named Nunciata/Nancy. Nunciata was born in Italy.

Steve’s maternal grandfather was named Harry Wilson.

Steve’s maternal grandmother was Amanda Van Dine (the daughter of Charles R. Van Dine/VanDyne and Jennie V. “Jane” Montgomery). Charles was the son of James Van Dine and Elizabeth Chambers Simpson, who was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. Jennie was the daughter of Ralph Boyle Montgomery and Julia Vanderhoof.
