Jeff Landry is an American politician and attorney. A Republican, he has been Governor of Louisiana, since January 8, 2024. He was previously a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Louisiana, from January 3, 2011 to January 3, 2013, and Attorney General of Louisiana, from January 11, 2016 to January 8, 2024. He was in the Louisiana National Guard, a police officer, and a sheriff’s deputy.
Jeff is the son of Edna, a Catholic school teacher, and Al Landry, an architect and businessperson. He is married to Sharon LeBlanc, with whom he has a son.
Jeff’s paternal grandfather was Dieu Donne/Diudomill/Dunlonne Landry (the son of Luke/Luc Landry and Cloma Babin). Dieu was born in Louisiana. Cloma was the daughter of Numa Eusebe Babin, Jr. and Coralie Hulin.
