Ivan Dixon was an American actor, director, and producer. He was known for his roles on the show Hogan’s Heroes and in the films Nothing But a Man and The Final War of Olly Winter. He was active in the civil rights movement, and was president of Negro Actors for Action. He directed many television series episodes.

His father, Ivan Dixon, was a grocery store owner. He was married to Berlie Ray Dixon, until his death, with whom he had four children.
