Date of Birth: August 11, 1953

Ethnicity: Italian (paternal grandfather), Irish, English, Scottish, French

Hulk Hogan is an American professional wrestler, actor, television personality, entrepreneur, and musician. He was a member of the New World Order, along with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

Hulk is the son of Ruth V. (Moody) and Peter Bollea, Jr. He is married to Jennifer McDaniel. He has two children, singer and actress Brooke Hogan and actor Nick Hogan, with his former wife, Linda Marie (Claridge) Hogan. His nephew is wrestler Horace Hogan.

Hulk’s paternal grandfather was of Italian descent and Hulk’s paternal grandmother had Irish, English, and Scottish ancestry.

Hulk’s mother was born in the Panama Canal Zone, to parents from Maryland and Maine, and had English and French ancestry. Hulk has said, at 41:22 in the linked video, that his mother was Panamanian and “really dark.” While Hulk’s mother was indeed born in Panama, she had no Panamanian ancestry (some of her family members were working on the construction of the Panama Canal at the time of her birth).

Hulk is a first cousin, once removed, of actress Elisabeth Röhm. Hulk’s paternal grandparents, Peter Bollea and Edith Medora Noonan, were also Elisabeth’s maternal great-grandparents, the parents of Elisabeth’s maternal grandmother, Carlina Bollea.

Hulk’s paternal grandfather was named Peter Bollea (the son of Pietro Bollea). Hulk’s grandfather Peter was born in Cigliano, Vercelli, Piemonte, Italy.

Hulk’s paternal grandmother was Edith Medora “Dora” Noonan (the daughter of Patrick Francis/Frank Noonan and Helena Frances Arvin). Edith was born in New York, to father from Prince Edward Island, Canada and a mother from New Hampshire, and had Irish, English, and Scottish ancestry.

Hulk’s maternal grandfather was Henry Clinton Moody (the son of Henry Moody and Ida C. Swaner/Swanner). Hulk’s grandfather Henry was born in Maryland, to a father from Pennsylvania and a mother from Maryland. Ida was the daughter of William G. Swanner and Margaret M. Sanders.

Hulk’s maternal grandmother was Vernice Caroline Violette (the daughter of Frank W. Violette and Elizabeth N. Stafford). Vernice was born in Old Town, Maine, and was raised in Panama, after her father went there to work on the Panama Canal. Hulk’s great-grandmother Elizabeth was the daughter of William Harrison Stafford and Caroline “Carrie” Knapp Butters.

Ban his old wrestling matches for life’s. I bet he grew up saying the N word from his parents. Sad. All racial slurs are wrong. He really seemed to have a problem with blacks too from that audio. Very bigoted that he didn’t want his daughter dating black men. Very bigoted. I got news for you Hogan I wouldn’t be here in it wasn’t for interracial unions! Stupid racist jackass…. banned for life.

I completely dislike all the racist slurs he said, but I don’t think it’s wierd that he doesn’t want his daughter to date black guys. I, for example, will only marry and have children with someone who is white. It is not because of hate, some of the most goodhearted people I know are black. It’s only about preserving your own kind :)

      • cwm85 says:

That is kinda racist. Your own kind is your family no matter what mixing it is. I’m glad my family did not think like you or I or many of my family members would not be here. If you choose your mate and ban a certain race because of color that’s a form of racism, discrimination believe it or not. My Dad is English, Scottish and najavo american and mom black. They had 3 boys. We are our own kind a beautiful blend of mixing of a melting pot of ethnicities. Some people on this site are very prejudice… and shallow.

I meant my people, my fellow europeans, when I said my kind. Family is of course family mixed or not. People simply think differently :) It’s very important for me that my children will resemble myself and our ancestors.

That is your choice. I’m glad not everyone my family included nave a more open minded view to procreation, otherwise like I said I wouldn’t be here, or my mdad, my brother’s, my first cousin, uncle… if it wasn’t for people mating with different races. We are proud muts. Who are proud of all of our backgrounds. English, scottish, african and native american. :-)

That’s good you should always be proud of who you are!

Why does Hulk say he has no Irish ancestry? I imagine he has at least a tad from his Noonan great-grandfather.
