Heather Hemmens is an American actress, film director, and film producer. She starred as Alice Verdura on The CW’s Hellcats.
She has said:
I grew up in Maine in the woods without electricity… We had wood stoves and fireplaces and it throws people off. But my parents go to their friends house to watch [her show] each week… my dad is kind of a hippie and my mom grew up in Costa Rica.
She also told Latina.com, “I’m Latina…There’s not much more to it,” and that she is the daughter of a white father and Costa Rican mother.

She looks like a mulatto to me. Costa Rica doesn’t have a black population. Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic have a large black population. This trick just wants to deny her OBVIOUS black ancestry and cover it up by saying she’s a “Latina”. Self hate is so sad and disgusting.
Who the Fuck are you to question what she says her race is? More importantly, are you an expert or perhaps a geneticists? Oh I get it, your small world view and obvious limited experiences with people of other ethnicities makes you an expert!
If you know anything about history and sociology, you’d know that unlike Puerto Rico, Costa Rico, had limited involvement in the African slave trade, and as such, the people are mainly homogeneous with a small percentage having mixtures of white and Indian.
Also if you knew history and anthropology, you’d realize that there is a reason for a Costa Rican’s darker skin tone.

Shes no different than a mulatto in the states. Her culture is latin but race wise shes diffnetly european and african. I hate how people (esp in the states) think spanish isnt white when it is…spanish and african is this ladies ethncity. Shes the same as paula patton, cept paula is german not spanish. Hey, she may be a negroid but it make one not better than the other. She is negroid, not black as defined in terminology of dictionaries, and is worthy. Anyhow, Costa Rica is mostly not black, but a slight percentage is such existed.

Actually, it says in Wikipedia that her dad is Caucasian and her mother is from Costa Rica, probably a black Costa Rican.
