Gerald Anderson is a Filipino-American film and television actor, commercial model, television producer, and basketball player. He is known as the “Action-Drama Prince” of Filipino entertainment. A point guard, he plays for Marikina Shoemasters of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, and has also been with Imus Bandera, GenSan Warriors, and Boracay Islanders.
His father, Gerald Randolph “Randy” Anderson, Sr., is an American instructor in the Philippine Navy, who travels back and forth between the U.S. and Zambales. His mother, Evangeline Opsima, is a Filipina businesswoman, from General Santos City.
Gerald’s paternal grandfather was Norbert Eugene Anderson, Sr. (the son of Charles Oscar Andersson, later Anderson, and of Fannie Josephine Schmidt). Norbert was born in Nebraska. Charles was born in Rosenlund, Västra Götaland County, Sweden, the son of Carl August Andersson/Anderson and Christina Christina Mathilda Eriksdotter. Fannie was the daughter of German emigrants, Joseph Schmidt and Maria Michaelsen, who were from Holstein.
Gerald’s paternal grandmother was Ethel Louise Lieuallen (the daughter of Dock Marion Lieuallen and Elsie Calvin McGowan). Ethel was born in Missouri. Dock was the son of Mathew John Lewallen and Martha Bilyeu. Elsie was born in Arkansas, the daughter of John McGowan and Marenda Robinson.
