She has won two Grand Slam titles, at the 2016 French Open and the 2017 Wimbledon Championships; as well as the 2021 WTA Finals, and ten WTA Tour titles. She is 6′0″.

Her father, José Antonio Muguruza, is Basque, from Eibar, Gipuzkoa, Spain, in Basque country. Her mother, Scarlet Blanco Reverón, is Venezuelan.

Garbiñe’s maternal grandfather was named Justo Blanco.

    To write Spanish (including Basque) is like writing English (including Scottish). The Basques are a unique group, not just a category of Spanish and French peoples.
