Forrest Gregg was an American professional football player and coach. An offensive tackle, he played for the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He was an offensive line coach for the San Diego Chargers and the Cleveland Browns of the NFL, and coach for the Cleveland Browns; the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL); the Cincinnati Bengals and the Green Bay Packers of the NFL; SMU college; and the Shreveport Pirates of the CFL. He is 6′4″.

Forrest was the son of Due Josephine and David Boyd Gregg. He was married to Barbara Dedek, until his death, with whom he had two children.

Forrest’s paternal grandfather was Dale Forest Gregg (the son of Harmon Marlon Gregg and Elizabeth Birthright). Harmon was born in Texas, the son of Samuel Gregg and Cinderilla Clifton. Elizabeth was born in Tennessee, the daughter of Claiborne Edward Birthright and Louisa Dixon Harris.

Forrest’s paternal grandmother was named Willie Arthur Anthony (the daughter of William Arthur Anthony).

Forrest’s maternal grandfather was Alvis Cain Shirley (the son of William Preston Shirley and Tura/Tera Alabama Lawson). Alvis was born in Alabama. William was born in Alabama, the son of Sgt. John Newton Shirley and Elizabeth Jane “Eliza” Masters. Tura was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, the daughter of John David Lawson and Harriet Ann Poole.

Forrest’s maternal grandmother was Ida Belle/Bell Stout (the daughter of John Marion Stout and Genora Mae Abshire). Ida was born in Texas. John was born in Kentucky, the son of Samuel D. Stout and Isabela Russell. Genora was born in Illinois, the daughter of Eli C. Abshire and Mary J. McKemie. McKemie is commonly a Scottish surname.
