Evangeline Lilly is a Canadian actress and author. She starred on the series Lost and plays Hope van Dyne / Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Evangeline’s father grew up in Nigeria, because Evangeline’s paternal grandparents were Christian missionaries in Africa. She was raised Baptist and Mennonite.

Evangeline has two children with her partner Norman Kali.

Evangeline’s paternal grandfather was Robert Lilly (the son of Alfred John Loveder Lilly and Nellie Emma Sale). Robert was born in Alberta, Canada. Alfred was born in Portsea Island, Hampshire, England, the son of Henry Lilly and Mary Ann Loveder Kenneth. Nellie was born in Frimley, Surrey, England, the daughter of Charles Walter Sale and Mary Ann Nash.

Evangeline’s paternal grandmother was Evangeline Hobbs (the daughter of William Haxforth Hobbs and Sarah Ann Armstrong). Evangeline’s grandmother Evangeline was born in Tynemouth, Northumberland, England, and was a war bride to Canada. William was the son of Robert Hobbs, of London, and of Harriet Haxforth, of Yorkshire. Sarah was the daughter of Charles Frederick Armstrong, whose father was evidently Swedish, and of Mary Louisa Martin; they were from Northumberland.

Interesting. I thought she looked more French but I’m not surprised she’s of English ancestry.

Evangeline is an Acadian French name. Nicole is also a French name. I’m pretty sure she is of English heritage (since her surname is Lilly) and French heritage. Acadian French is spoken in Canada, but not in Quebec.

She don’t look like the English I see around me everyday, so there must be more in there as I suspected. It’s the middle-name & her looks.
