Dami Im is a Korean and Australian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She was placed second in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, representing Australia, with the song “Sound of Silence.”

Dami was born in South Korea, and moved to Australia with her family at the age of nine, living in Brisbane. She is the daughter of Im Dong Eal (or Dong Eal Im in Western name order) and Lee Hae Yun (or Hae Yun Lee in Western name order). Dami belongs to the Pungcheon Im clan, which originated from Kwail County, South Hwanghae Province, North Korea.

She is married to Noah Kim, with whom she has a son.

Dami’s patrilineal line can be traced back to her 29th great-grandfather, Im On, who was a general-in-chief during the reign of the King of Goryeo, Chung-nyeol.

Dami’s paternal grandfather was named Im Chang-il. Chang-il was born in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.
