Christina Ricci is an American actress. She has starred in the films Mermaids, The Addams Family (as Wednesday Addams), Now and Then, Casper (1995), Sleepy Hollow, The Ice Storm, Buffalo ’66, Pecker, The Opposite of Sex, Prozac Nation, Pumpkin, Anything Else, Monster, Cursed, Black Snake Moan, and Speed Racer, and on the show Yellowjackets, among other works. She is the national spokesperson for the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN).
Christina is the daughter of Sarah and Ralph Ricci. She was raised partly in Montclair, New Jersey. She has stated:
The Italian blood has been bred out of me. There’s an Italian four or five generations back who married an Irish woman and they all had sons. So they married more Irish women, there were more sons, and more Irish women. Now I’m basically Scots-Irish.
In fact, Christina’s father is of half Italian ancestry. The rest of her lineage is at least five eighths Irish.
Christina is married to hairstylist Mark Hampton. She has a son with her former husband, dolly grip James Heerdegen; and a daughter with Mark.
Christina’s paternal grandfather was Victor Edward Ricci (the son of Henry Ricci and Valentina Fiorentino/Fiorentini). Victor was born in New York, to Italian parents, from Aulla, Province of Massa and Carrara, Tuscany.
Christina’s paternal grandmother was Charlotte Mae Ryan (the daughter of Patrick James Ryan and Helena J. Shay). Charlotte was born in New York. Patrick was born in Ireland, the son of Bernard Ryan and Catherine McDonald. Helena was born in New York, of Irish descent, and was the daughter of Timothy Shay and Mary Brennan.
Christina’s maternal grandfather was Paul Stein Murdoch/Murdock (the son of John T. Murdoch and Mary Bridget Thornton). Paul was born in Newark, New Jersey. John was the son of Edward Eli Murdoch/Murdock and Catherine/Kate Plowman, and had deep roots in the U.S. Mary was born in New Jersey, to Irish parents.
Christina’s maternal grandmother was Mary Alice Keaveny (the daughter of Francis Keaveny and Ann McGowan). Mary was born in Ireland, or in New Jersey, of Irish parentage.

She is not Scots-Irish, that term I think is only reserved for people in in the Appalachian area in the south. She is Irish Italian and Scottish on her mother’s side, that does not make her Scots-Irish.
I find her so weird looking and pretty at the same time. She’s not classically beautiful and she kind of looks like an alien, but she’s still pretty.

I think there’s many americans trying to claim irish roots.I don’t know why.For more than two thousand years,irish people has been crushed and conquered in europe.Once they dominated most western europe,now celtics are only in Ireland,Wales and Scotland.Not mentioning poverty and hunger.

Why is she claiming Irish roots? Uh… maybe because her family tree has names like Ryan,Brennan,McDonald,Shay?
The Irish never dominated most of Western Europe because the Irish were never actually Celts.The war in Alesia had nothing to do with Irish people,that was with what are now modern day French people.
Irish people left for America for the same reasons that all other Euro ethnic groups did.To escape religious,ethnic or economic persecution.Including Italians.
