Bonnie Tyler is a Welsh singer. She is known for her song “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”

She is the daughter of Elsie Doreen and David Glyndwr Hopkins, who was a coal miner and serviceman. She is married to property developer and judoka competitor Robert Sullivan.

Bonnie’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Hopkins (the son of David Hopkins and Dinah Evans). Thomas was born in Neath, Glamorganshire, Wales.

Bonnie’s paternal grandmother was Catherine Rees (the daughter of John Rees and Lucy, or of William Rees and Sarah Lloyd). Catherine was born in Skewen, Glamorganshire, Wales. Sarah was the daughter of David Lloyd and Elizabeth.

Bonnie’s maternal grandfather was David John Lewis (the son of Joseph Lewis and Elizabeth Jenkins/George).

Bonnie’s maternal grandmother was Dorothy May Parish (the daughter of Frank Howard Parish and Ellen Chapple). Dorothy’s parents were English.
