Baauer’s paternal grandmother was Dolores Ann Andrade (the daughter of Jose Andrade and Jesuina Mendes). Dolores was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts, of Portuguese descent.

Baauer’s maternal grandfather was Peter Bauer Neiman (the son of Harry Neiman and Viola M. Langer). Peter was born in New York, to Jewish parents. Harry’s father was from Austria, as was Viola’s father.
