Armie is the son of Dru Ann (Mobley), a bank loan officer, and Michael Armand Hammer, a businessperson. His father owned Knoedler Publishing and the film/television Armand Hammer Productions. He grew up in Los Angeles, as well as Highland Park, near Dallas, and the Cayman Islands. Armie has two children with his former wife, model, reporter, and actress Elizabeth Chambers.
Armie’s paternal great-grandfather was famous businessperson Armand Hammer, who ran the company Occidental Petroleum, specializing in oil and gas, from 1957 until 1990, his death. A picture, c. 1989, of Armie together with his great-grandfather Armand, can be seen here. Armand Hammer was named after Armand Duval, a character in the book La Dame aux Camélias (The Lady of the Camellias), 1848, by Alexandre Dumas.
Armie has described his own background as “half Jewish.” His great-grandfather Armand was Jewish, of Russian Jewish descent. Armie’s other ancestry is German, English, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Scottish, 1/16th or 1/32 Russian (approximately), 1/32 Polish, 1/32 Danish, Swiss-German, 1/128th Greek, and 1/512th Cherokee Native American.
Armie’s paternal grandfather was Julian Armand Hammer (the son of Armand Hammer and Olga Vadimovna Vadina-Rot). Armie’s great-grandfather Armand was the son of Julius Hammer and Rose Lifschitz/Robinson, Jewish emigrants from the Russian Empire; his own father was born in Odessa.
Armie’s great-grandmother Olga was an actress, born in Sevastopol, Russia, to Vadim Rot/Root/Von Rot, a staff captain, and Lubov Karlovna Kostsyushko-Valyuzhinich. Lubov’s father, Karl Kazimirovich Kostsyushko-Valyuzhinich, who was Catholic, was born in Mogilev, to a family of landed gentry, of Polish descent. Lubov’s mother, Maria Pavlovna Revelioti, was of Russian Orthodox religion, and was the daughter of Pavel Feodosevich Revelioti. Armie’s great-great-great-great-grandfather Pavel was the son of Feodosiy Dmitrievich Revelioti (originally Theodosios Reveliotis), who was Greek, from Arcadia, and of Maria Pavlova. This makes Armie Hammer of 1/128th Greek descent. A picture of Armie’s great-great-great-great-great-grandfather Feodosiy can be found here.
Armie’s paternal grandmother was Glenna Sue Ervin (the daughter of Glen Williams Ervin and Bertha Estelle/Stella Bannerman). Armie’s grandmother Glenna was born in Texas. Armie’s great-grandfather Glen was the son of Robert A. Ervin and Allie Belle Williams. Bertha was the daughter of Charles William Bannerman and Frances Elizabeth Dunn. Armie’s grandmother Glenna had English, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, and Scottish, ancestry. One of Glenna’s six times great-grandfathers was Chief Kanagatucko, a Cherokee elder who served as the First Beloved Man of the Cherokee, from 1753 until 1760 (his death); Chief Kanagatucko’s wife, Su-Gi (Wild Onion) of the Wolf Clan, was also Cherokee. Their daughter, who was also known as Sussannah Hopper, married James William David McDaniel, Armie’s seven times great-grandfather.
Armie’s maternal grandfather is Douglas Lee Mobley (the son of William L. “Billy” Mobley and Jessie). Douglas was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and has English, Scottish, and German ancestry. William was born in Texas, the son of John David Mobley and Lula Maxwell.
Armie’s maternal grandmother was Donna Rae Kaufman (the daughter of William George/S./F. Kaufman and Leta Faye Young). Donna was born in Ogema, Wisconsin, or Illinois. William was born in Illnois, the son of John Peter Kaufman, who was of German and Swiss-German descent, and of Amelia/Emily Miller, who was of German ancestry. Leta was born in South Dakota, the daughter of John Elgen/Elgie Young and Mary Luella Baden, whose own father, James Martin Baden, was Danish, from Torrild, Aarhus, and whose own mother, Nancy Elizabeth Harrison, was American, from Muscatine, Iowa.

He’s mixed basically with every European nation! LOL Damn…
Olga Vadimovna Vadina-Rot was born in 1900 in Sevastopol. Her parents were staff captain Vadim Rot (or Root), sometimes he called his name as Von Rot (Root) and Lubov Karlovna Kostsyushko-Valyuzhinich (the daughter of Karl Kazimirovich Kostsyushko-Valyuzhinich and Maria Pavlovna Revelioti). Karl was born in Mogilev (now Belarus) April 20, 1847, in the landed gentry family of Polish origin and he was Roman Catholic.
Maria Pavlovna Revelioti was Russian Orthodox and could be a descendant of Greek general, but it’s not clear.

Impressive. Added.
So he’s 1/32 Russian?
BTW, you wouldn’t happen to know if Armie’s maternal great-grandfather, William Kaufman, was Jewish? (husband of June Leta Young).
It’s hard to say, but yes, approximately 1/32 Russian.
Maria Revelioti’s father was Pavel Feodosevich Revelioti (son of Feodosiy Dmitrievich Revelioti (originally Theodosios Reveliotis) and Maria Pavlova). Feodosiy was Greek from Arcadia, Greece.

And I’m pretty sure that Olga’s father Vadim was not only German.
I found nothing about William Kaufman origin, sorry. German or Jewish for sure, but that exactly…

More than Johnny Depp and Kim Basinger. :)
You must be a giant (or decent sized troll) if you say 6’5 isn’t tall.
