The Icelandic population is descended from Irish, Scots and Norse. The reason why they are more distant from their population origin is because of genetic drift due to isolation and also bottlenecks in their population. They are still of Irish, Scot and Norse descent though. Many populations that are isolated will over time deviate from their source population. Thanks for the interesting article.

Ok people so when the Spaniards arrived in the Americas the Indians where suprised because they never seen a white man before. Spain is in Europe they are white. His last name is Spanish meaning European. Yes many people in Latin America have Spanish sur name but that’s because Spain took over that part of the land. The English took the land of the Indians North of the border took over the Native land too. Does this mean that the English is no longer white? Or the French because part of Canada is also French speaking but at one time our Native people lived on that land for thousands of years. So yes Spaniards are white.
