Alex Kuczynski is a Peruvian-American journalist.

Alex’s father, Pedro Pablo Kucyznski, is a politician, who was President of Peru, from 28 July, 2016 to 23 March, 2018. Alex’s mother, Jane Dudley (Casey), is an American staff reporter, from Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Alex is married to investor Charles Porter Stevenson, Jr., with whom she has a son.

Her first cousin, once removed, is French filmmaker and film critic Jean-Luc Godard. Her paternal grandmother, Madeleine Godard, was the sister of Jean-Luc’s father.

Alex’s paternal grandfather was Maxime Hans “Max” Kuczyński (the son of Louis Kuczyński and Emma Schlesinger). Maxime, a public health advocate, was a Polish Jewish physician, from Poznań, Poznań County, Greater Poland Voivodeship. Louis was the son of Marcus Kuczyński and Gütel Levy. Emma was born in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Ismar Isaac Schlesinger and Betty Mankiewicz.

Alex’s paternal grandmother was Madeleine Godard (the daughter of Georges Godard and Louise Rose Émilie Baeschlin). Madeleine was born in Switzerland, to French parents, and was of French and Swiss-German descent. Georges was the son of Joseph Godard and Jacquette Fournier. Louise was the daughter of Édouard Baeschlin and Rosine Normand.

Alex’s maternal grandfather was Joseph E. Casey (Joseph Edward Casey, the son of John Edward Casey and Winifred M. “Winnie” Carey). Joseph was born in Massachusetts. He was a politician, who was a Democratic Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts, from January 3, 1935 to January 3, 1943. John was the son of Irish immigrants, Martin Casey and Mary Whalen. Winifred was an Irish immigrant, and was the daughter of John Carey and Catherine.

Alex’s maternal grandmother was Constance Marion Dudley (the daughter of Charles Howard Dudley and Ida Louise Ockerblad). Constance was born in New Hampshire. Charles was the son of Charles Howard Dudley and Frances Rowena “Fanny” Powers, whose own parents, Matthias Powers and Johanna O’Brien, were Irish emigrants, from Tramore and Kilcomeragh, respectively both in County Waterford. Ida was the daughter of a Swedish emigrant father, Fredrick Otto Åkerblad (later Ockerblad), of Östra Vingåker, Katrineholm, Södermanland, and of a Norwegian emigrant mother, Caroline Johanna Olsen, of Kristiansand, Vest-Agder.

Alex’s matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to her eighth great-grandmother, Trinke Toresdatter (died 1699, Kristianstad).
