Zack Wheeler is an American professional baseball player. He plays as a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously with the New York Mets.

Zack is the son of Elaine, who has played competitive softball, and Barry Wheeler, who played amateur baseball. His brother Adam was a minor league pitcher in the New York Yankees farm system. Zack was raised partly in Dallas, Georgia. He is married to Dominique, with whom he has two children.

Zack’s paternal grandfather was William Robert Wheeler (the son of Buford Wheeler and Fonnie L. Hatcher). William was born in Georgia. Buford was the son of William Ellison Wheeler and Eliza A. Walker. Fonnie was the daughter of William Luther Hatcher and Lula J. Winkler.

Zack’s paternal grandmother was Cora Patricia/Patsy Dunaway (the daughter of James Harrison Dunaway and Victoria Julia Pickens). Cora was born in DeKalb County, Georgia. James was the son of L.
