Modern Syrians don’t look like Italians, they’re Arabs. And Dan Hedaya is not an ethnic Syrian. He looks like a mix between Nixon and Oliver Stone.
The Syrians who have Arab ancestry (Gulf Arabs, who are darker) don’t, yes. But those who are of pure Levant ancestry would.

He does look Sicilian, though. His look wouldn’t be so foreign in southern Italy and Greece.
