Annie is the daughter of Marilyn Edith (Heit) and Samuel Leibovitz. Her father’s parents were Romanian Jews. Her mother was born in New York City, of Austrian Jewish, Russian Jewish, and possibly Estonian Jewish, descent. Annie has three children.

Annie’s maternal grandfather was named Louis R. Heit. Louis was born in Austria.

Annie’s maternal grandmother was named Anne. Anne was born in New York, to parents from the Russian Empire.
