Stanley Kubrick was an American film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, editor, and photographer.

He was the son of Sadie Gertrude (Perveler) and Jacob Leonard “Jacques/Jack” Kubrick. His grandparents were all Jewish immigrants.

Stanley was married to German actress and dancer Christiane Harlan, until his death. The couple had two children, including filmmaker and composer Vivian Kubrick.

Stanley’s paternal grandfather was named Elias Kubrick (the son of Hersh Kubrick). Elias is said to have been born in Pobuzke, Ukraine, or in Austria, Poland, or Romania.

Stanley’s paternal grandmother was named Rosa “Rose” Spiegelblatt. Rosa was born in Austria or Romania.

Stanley’s maternal grandfather was named Samuel Perveler (the son of Israel Perveler and Brane). Samuel was born in Austria.

Stanley’s maternal grandmother was named Celia Siegel (the daughter of Joseph Siegel and Gittel). Celia was born in Russia.
