Wolf Blitzer is an American journalist and television news anchor. He has hosted the show The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer since 2005.

Wolf is the son of Cesisa and David Blitzer, Jewish refugees from Oświęcim, Poland, and Holocaust survivors. The family moved to Buffalo, New York, where Wolf was raised. Wolf is married to Lynn Greenfield, with whom he has a daughter.

Wolf’s paternal grandfather was named Isaak Blitzer (the son of Nison Blitzer and Matel). Isaak was born in Jaślany, Poland.

Wolf’s paternal grandmother was named Chaya Scheer (the daughter of Moses Scheer and Malka). Chaya was born in Tarnobrzeg, Poland.

Wolf’s maternal grandfather was Wolf/Volf Velvel Zylberfuden (the son of Yisrael Zylberfuden and Faige Mindel). Wolf’s grandfather Wolf Zylberfuden was born in Suchedniów, Poland.
