Tommy McDonald was an American professional football player. He was a flanker and halfback in the National Football League (NFL). He was a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was also part of the College Football Hall of Fame, where he played for Oklahoma.

Tommy was the son of Beulah Mary and Clyde Earnest McDonald.

Tommy’s paternal grandfather was Thomas F. McDonald (the son of Elbert Wesley McDonald and Larada Florentine Best). Elbert was born in Missouri, the son of Thomas McDonald and Hiley L. Carter. Larada was born in Tennessee, the daughter of Samuel David Best and Sarah Ann Sally Best.

Tommy’s paternal grandmother was named Lenora Nora McDonald. Lenora was born in Kansas.

Tommy’s maternal grandfather was James Proctor (the son of William Bowen Proctor and Canzada Elizabeth Proctor). William was born in Tennessee, the son of William W. Proctor and Manerva Ann Nancy Slate.

Tommy’s maternal grandmother was Elma Frances Reasor (the daughter of John Thomas Reasor and Sallie A. Lizzie Doolin). John was born in Kentucky, the son of William Reasor and Susan Carpenter Stout. Sallie was Irish.
