Steven Bochco was an American television producer and writer. He developed the series Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, Doogie Howser, M.D., Cop Rock, and NYPD Blue.

He was the son of Miriam “Mimi” and Rudolph Bochco. His sister is actress Joanna Frank. His family was Jewish. His father was born in Warsaw, Poland. His mother was born in Lithuania. Steven was married to television producer and executive Dayna Kalins, until his death. He had two children, including television producer and director Jesse Bochco, with his former wife, actress Barbara Bosson. Jesse is married to Kate Danson, the daughter of actor Ted Danson.

Steven’s paternal grandfather was Jacob Bochco (the son of Nachman Bochco and Brienda/Breindel Tussman/Sussman). Jacob was born in Warsaw.
