Shannon Sharpe is an American professional football player and analyst. He played for the Denver Broncos, as well as the Baltimore Ravens, of the National Football League (NFL), for a total of fourteen seasons. He is regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in game history. He was the first NFL tight end to amass over 10,000 receiving yards, and won two consecutive Super Bowl titles. He retired while the lead NFL scorer in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns by a tight end. He has appeared on The NFL Today on CBS, and co-hosted Skip and Shannon: Undisputed.
Shannon is the son of Mary Alice and Pete Sharpe. His brother is professional football player Sterling Sharpe.
Shannon’s maternal grandfather was Barney Porter (the son of William Mitchell Porter, Sr. and Mahala Shipman).
Shannon’s maternal grandmother was named Mary Viola Washington.
