Sean’s son Jason Connery is an actor. Also Neil Connery (his brother) acted.
Well, that’s not quite true. Southern Scotland was part of Bernicia, which with Deira, formed the Anglian Kingdom of Northumbria. Still, that’s probably lost on you. As for Mr Connery, if you look at his lineage, it is split between Irish and Scottish (which may include Gael (Scottish), British (Welsh) and English (Angle).
I thought he was Welsh?
Definitely a Scotsman…
Are you sure about that? Have you seen him play a Punjabi in ‘The Man Who Would Be King’ or playing an Arab in ‘The Wind and The Lion’ Cwm85? Plus I have a Scottish friend looks very similar to him and he took a DNA test showing he has the haplogroup J common in the Middle East, which is rare in Scotland which he thinks came with the Roman soldiers stationed in Scotland.
There are a lot of dark haired/eyed people in Scotland – generally in the Lowlands. I guess descendants of Britons/Picts.
Also African genes have been found amongst them – look at the guy in the photo below, to see what I mean!:
