Rome Flynn
Birth Name: Rome Trumain Flynn
Place of Birth: Springfield, Illinois, U.S.
Date of Birth: November 25, 1991
Ethnicity: Cuban/African-American, as well as Irish
Rome Flynn is an American actor, model, and musician. His roles include the film Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral, and television’s Drumline: A New Beat, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Haves and the Have Nots, How to Get Away with Murder, Dear White People, With Love, Raising Dion, Grey’s Anatomy, and Fantasy Football.
Rome is the son of Necole Alexander, who owns a soul food restaurant, and Rome Flynn. He has stated, “I’m Afro-Cuban.” It appears that his father is of half black and half white descent. Rome’s mother is also black.
Rome has a daughter.
Rome’s paternal grandmother likely is named Marian Flynn. Marian was born in Illinois, and is white.
Can we take out the mention of Cuban until we’re able to confirm it?
There’s no evidence of his Cuban ancestry. Illinois has never had a large Cuban community unlike Florida, California, New York, or New Jersey. Perhaps in more recent years. He even calls himself Afro-Cuban on his Instagram account. He shouldn’t be lying about his ethnicity if he is.
I think this is his paternal grandmother:

His parents are Necole Alexander and Rome Flynn. His mother is African-American. She even owns a soul food restaurant. His father is at least partialy of African descent, but the only thing I found about him was his ex-wife’s sister’s obituary, so pretty much nothing.
Which ancestry comes from which parent? What are the sources for the current information?
