Kathryne Dora Brown is an American actress. She is the daughter of actors Tyne Daly and Georg Stanford Brown. Her uncle is actor Tim Daly, and her cousin is actor Sam Daly, who is Tim’s son.

Kathryne’s father was born in Havana, Cuba, to Jamaican parents, and moved to the U.S. with his family at age seven.

Kathryne’s maternal grandfather was James Daly, an actor (born James Firman Daly, the son of Percifer Charles “Percey” Daly and Dorothy Ethelbert Hogan). James was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wood, Wisconsin. Percifer was manager of the Daly Ice and Coal Company. He was the son of John Daly, whose parents were Irish, and of Elizabeth Nancy Smith. Dorothy was the daughter of John Francis Hogan, whose parents were Irish, from County Tipperary, and of Martha Ellen/Helen “Mattie” Jones.

Kathryne’s maternal grandmother was Hope Newell, an actress (born Mary Hope Newell, the daughter of John Pierce Newell and Maria Hope St. Clair). Kathryne’s grandmother Hope was born in Indianola, Warren, Iowa. John was born in DeFuniak Springs, Walton, Florida, the son of Charles Henry Newell and Ida Mae Pierce. Kathryne’s great-grandmother Maria was born in Creston, Union, Iowa, the daughter of John Franklin St. Clair and Mary Jane Lemen.
