Ray Stevenson was a British actor. Particularly known for starring as Frank Castle / Punisher in Punisher: War Zone, he subsequently gave many supporting performances in Hollywood productions of the 2010s, usually as antagonists. His roles include the films The Theory of Flight, King Arthur (2004), Outpost, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, The Book of Eli, The Other Guys, Kill the Irishman, the Thor films, The Three Musketeers (2011), G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Jayne Mansfield’s Car, the Divergent/Insurgent/Allegiant trilogy, Big Game, The Transporter Refueled, Cold Skin, Accident Man, and its sequel; Final Score, RRR, and Memory (2022); and television’s City Central, Rome, Dexter, Saints & Strangers, Black Sails, Vikings, and Das Boot (2018), and, in voice performance, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

He was born in Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, to an English father, who was in the RAF, and an Irish mother. In 1972, his family moved to Lemington, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and then Seaton Delaval. Ray had three children with his partner, anthropologist Elisabetta Caraccia.
