Rachelle is the daughter of Esther Riva (Gerlovin) and Alan Lefevre. Her father was of Irish and French descent. Her mother was Jewish (of Russian Jewish descent). Rachelle’s stepfather was a rabbi. Rachel self-identifies as Jewish.
She has stated that her paternal grandmother was from Northern Ireland. She expressed an interest in obtaining a European passport, to enable her to live and work in Europe. Unfortunately, as the hospital where her grandmother was born has burned down, there are no records to let her obtain a passport.
Rachelle’s maternal grandfather was named Samuel Gerlovin.
Rachelle’s maternal grandmother was named Clara Fuchs/Fox.

very common French surname
YEAH THAT WOULD MAKE HER, FRENCH, JEWISH, AND IRISH.
Ah, here is where careful reading has to come in.
The Montreal Gazzette article clearly states her maternal grandparents are Jewish. However, re:the Northern Irish thing – in the interview, she doesn’t say it was her ”maternal” grandmother who was Irish. Rather, she mentions her father in relation to that, implying that it was her ”paternal” grandmother who was Irish.
So, that adds up to her father being French and Irish, and her mother Jewish.

“My father will be very upset that I couldn’t remember the name of the small town where she’s from..” Seems to imply that her Irish grandmother, was her father’s mother.
I wonder where her Jewish family comes from..
