Peter Garrett is an Australian musician, environmentalist, activist, former politician. He is the lead singer of the Australian rock band Midnight Oil. He was a Member of the Australian Parliament for Kingsford Smith, from 9 October, 2004 to 5 August, 2013, Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage and the Arts, from 3 December, 2007 to 14 September, 2010, and Minister for School Education, Early Childhood and Youth, from 14 September, 2010 to 26 June, 2013.
He is married to Doris Ricono-Garrett, with whom he has three children.
