Pete Burns was a British singer, songwriter, and television personality. He was vocalist and songwriter for pop band Dead or Alive, who are known for their 1985 single “You Spin Me Round.” He also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006.
Pete was the son of Evelina “Eva” Maria Bettina Quittner Von Hudec and Francis Burns. He was married to Michael Simpson, until his death.
Pete had said that his mother was of half Jewish ancestry (through her own father). Pete’s mother left Nazi Germany after Hitler’s government imposed anti-Semitic laws upon the country. She met Pete’s father, who was Scottish, in Vienna, Austria, where he was a soldier in the British Armed Forces.
Pete’s maternal grandfather was named Hugo Quittner.
