Pam Ferris is a Welsh actress. Her roles include the films Matilda (1996) and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

She was born in Hanover, Lower Saxony, West Germany, to parents from the British Isles, Ann Ethel (Perkins), from Bridgend, Glamorganshire, Wales, and Frederick John Ferris, from Swindon, Wiltshire, England. Her father was then in the British Air Force, and was involved in the de-Nazification of Germany. Her parents returned to Wales, and she was raised in the Aberkenfig area, near Bridgend. She was also raised partly in New Zealand.

Pam is married to actor Roger Frost.

Pam’s paternal grandfather was Jesse Edward Ferris (the son of Joseph Ferris and Mary Ann Welsh). Jesse was born in Melksham, Wiltshire, England. Joseph was the son of James Ferris and Sarah Whitcomb. Mary Ann was the daughter of Benjamin Welsh and Mary Mills.

Pam’s paternal grandmother was Emily Hannah Markham (the daughter of John Markham and Rachael/Rachel Hughes). Emily was born in Brackley, Northamptonshire, England. John was the son of John Markham and Hannah Seeney. Rachel was the daughter of Benjamin Hughes and Mary Palmer.

Pam’s maternal grandfather was Evan Perkin/Perkins (the son of John Perkin/Perkins and Eleanor Jones). Evan was born in Byn, Glamorgan, Wales. John was born in Frithlestock, Devon, England, the son of Richard Perkin/Perkins and Christiana Webster. Eleanor was the daughter of David Jones.

Pam’s maternal grandmother was named Mary Catherine Hallisey (the daughter of Michael Hallisey and Ann). Mary Catherine was born in Pontypridd, Glamorganshire, Wales.
