Nancy Allen is an American actress. She is known for her leading roles in the films Carrie, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, 1941, Dressed to Kill, Blow Out, Strange Invaders, The Philadelphia Experiment, RoboCop, Poltergeist III, Limit Up, Les patriotes, and Out of Sight, and in the made-for-tv movie The Gladiator (1986). She is a cancer research activist; and is an executive director of weSPARK Cancer Support Center in Los Angeles. Early on, she often worked with director Brian De Palma.

Nancy is the daughter of Florence and Eugene Altshuler/Altschuler/Allen, a police officer. Her father was born in Illinois, to Russian Jewish parents. Her mother was born in Ohio, of German and Irish descent.

Nancy’s paternal grandfather was named Michael Altschuler/Altshuler/Altschlyer.

Nancy’s paternal grandmother was named Lillian/Lilly Rose Irving/Epstein.
