Leigh-Anne Pinnock is a British singer, songwriter, actress, and fashion blogger. She is a member of the British band Little Mix, along with Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirlwall.
Leigh-Anne has two children with her fiancé, professional footballer Andre Gray.
She has stated:
That is such a personal thing, isn’t it: ‘What do you identify as?’… I do identify as black. I have two mixed-race parents… So I have always identified as black growing up. I feel like I was identified as black in the public eye as well. The public would call me the ‘black girl’ in Little Mix and that’s what I was and I owned it, but it is such a personal thing to say… I get scared to offend people as a mixed-race person [saying] that I identify as black because I know how bad colourism is and how dark-skinned people are not represented enough in the media at all.
It appears that Leigh-Anne’s paternal grandparents are black, though likely also have white ancestry. Her maternal grandfather was black, and her maternal grandmother was white. A picture of Leigh-Anne with her mother can be seen here.

To me when someone gets triggered when asked their ethnicity I sense it comes from shame. you should be proud to talk about your background. I love genealogy.
She is expecting a baby with her partner, professional footballer Andre Gray. I suggest to add the latter into this site.
Her parents are both mixed race : https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/may/02/leigh-anne-pinnock-of-little-mix-being-black-is-my-power-i-want-young-black-girls-to-see-that
“I do identify as black. I have two mixed-race parents”
So her paternal grandmother is white? The tweet I linked has disappeared.
Her paternal grandparents are “both black” (from her dad’s FB) despite her father’s look.
Yes and she is still MIXED race. It’s not a SIN to be of MIXED heritage. You jealous or something? She has NOTHING to prove. Miscegenation is a beautiful thing and I pray it continues FOREVER so…
Who on this thread said being mixed heritage is a sin?
Nobody. But people come in here with all kinds of personal agendas and angles that they’d be better off dealing with with their psychatrist instead of a ethnicity website. lol
Don’t know why people just can’t come here because they are interested in ancestry. Not everyone’s going to agree on everything, but the axe-grinding some come in here with is annoying and boring.
