Katie Porter is an American law professor, attorney, and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, she has served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California, since January 3, 2019.

Her father, Dan Porter, was a farmer and banker. Her mother, Liz, was a founder of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting. She was raised on a farm. She has three children with her former husband Matthew Hoffman.
