Jonathan Brandis was an American actor, director, screenwriter, and model. He starred in the mini-series Stephen King’s It (1990), in the films The Wrong Guys, Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy, The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter, Ladybugs, Sidekicks, Outside Providence, Ride with the Devil, Hart’s War, The Year That Trembled, and Bad Girls from Valley High, in the made-for-tv movies Our Shining Moment, Born Free: A New Adventure, Fall into Darkness, and Two Came Back, and on the series One Life to Live, seaQuest DSV, and Aladdin, the latter in voice role.
He was the son of Mary, a teacher, and Gregory Brandis, a firefighter and food distributor.
Jonathan’s patrilineal line can be traced to Henry William Brandis, who was born, c. 1823, in Prussia.
