George Stroumboulopoulos is a Canadian television and radio personality. He was the host of the show George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight from 2005 to 2014, and anchored Hockey Night in Canada and NHL on Rogers from 2014 to 2016. He is nicknamed “Strombo.”
He is the son of Mary and Mark Stroumboulopoulos. His father is of Greek descent; his family lived in Cairo, Egypt. His mother is of Ukrainian ancestry.
George’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Ivanyshan.
