Gary Carter was an American professional baseball player. A catcher, he spent most of his ninteen playing seasons with the Montreal Expos and the New York Mets, along with the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers, of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was nicknamed “the Kid.”
Gary was the son of Inge Charolette (Keller) and James Haggard Carter. His maternal grandparents were German immigrants, who moved to Chicago, Illinois. He was married to Sandy, with whom he had three children.
Gary’s paternal grandfather was Truman Clark Carter (the son of Clark Cummin Carter and Lilie Loullia Haggard).
