Felipe Contepomi is an Argentinian rugby coach, player, and physician. He was the top scorer and most capped player of Argentina when he retired.

Felipe is the son of María Elena “Malele” Ferrante Botto and Carlos Alberto “Pomi” Contepomi Barragué, who was an orthopedic doctor and amateur rugby player. He has six biological siblings, including twin brother Manuel Contepomi, who is also an international rugby player, as well as Carlos “Bebe” Contepomi, a television personality, and Juan Pablo Contepomi, a priest.

Felipe’s paternal grandfather was Celestino Manuel Contepomi Frey (the son of Celestino Contepomi Cicuta and Manuela Frey). Felipe’s grandfather Celestino was born in Reconquista, Argentina. Felipe’s great-grandfather Celestino was the son of Italian parents, Celestino Contepomi and Manuela Cicuta, who were from Cormons, Gorizia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, then in Austria. The surname Frey is German.

Felipe’s paternal grandmother was Celia Irma Barragué (the daughter of Carlos Barragué and Teresa Elichiry Arroqui). Celia was born in Argentina. Carlos was the son of Justin-Agustin Barragué and Marie Jeanne Magdeleine Dutroc, who were from Cieutat and St. Lezer, respectively, both in Haute Pyrénees, France. Teresa was the daughter of Joseph Elichiry Inchauspé, who was from Tardets-Sorholus, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France, and of Mariana Arroqui, who was the daughter of Basque parents, from France.

Felipe’s maternal grandfather was named Felipe Salvador Eugenio Ferrante Ariani. Felipe was Italian, from San Benedetto Ullano, Cosenza, Calabria.

Felipe’s maternal grandmother was Guillermina Flora Botto Bellucci (who possibly was the daughter of Carlos Justo Botto and Leonina Belucci).
