Faten Hamama was an Egyptian actress and film producer. She was known as “The First Lady of Egyptian and Arabic Cinema.”

Faten was the daughter of Zeinab Tawfik and Ahmed Hamama. She was a practicing Muslim. She was married to doctor Mohamed Abdel Wahab Mahmoud, until her death. Faten had a daughter with her former husband, director, screenwriter, actor, and producer Ezz El-Dine Zulficar; and a son with her former husband, actor Omar Sharif. Her grandson is actor, model, author, and gay activist Omar Sharif, Jr.
