Evan Williams is an American billionaire technology entrepreneur and executive. He co-founded Twitter, along with Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, and Biz Stone; and was its CEO and a member of its board. He co-founded online content management system Blogger, and founded online publishing platform Medium, of which he is chairman; and co-founded venture capital firm Obvious Ventures.

Evan is the son of Laurie and Monte Williams. He was raised on a farm. He has two children with his former wife Sara Morishige.

Evan’s maternal grandfather was Orlando Whiting Howe (the son of George Whiting Howe and Josephine Evalina Dodge). George was the son of Clarence Melville Howe and Phebe Exene Stanard. Josephine was the daughter of Peter Edwards, later Orlando A. Dodge, and Olive Anna Pickett.

Evan’s maternal grandmother was Helen Bernice Christensen (the daughter of Henry H. Christensen and Nellie Andrews). Helen was born in Minnesota. Henry was the son of Danish immigrants, John Christensen and Stine Kirstine “Christine” Andersen. Nellie was the daughter of Swedish immigrants, Johan Andersson, later John Andrews, and Alma Sophia Snell.
