Doug Harvey was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He was a defensemen and coach for the National Hockey League (NHL).

Doug was the son of Martha Shawnee (Evans) and Alfred Harry Harvey. His paternal grandparents were English. He was married to Usula Hardie, with whom he had six children.

Doug’s paternal grandfather was named Joseph Frost Harvey.

Doug’s paternal grandmother was Eliza Baskett (the daughter of John Baskett and Mary Rachel Weston).
