Donna Summer was a legendary American singer, songwriter, and painter. She had a string of hit songs from the ’70s up until her death in 2012. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her beautiful voice.
Donna is the daughter of Mary Ellen (Davis) and Andrew Gaines.
Donna was married to singer and songwriter Bruce Sudano, until her death. She had a daughter with her former husband, Austrian actor Helmuth Sommer; and two children, actress and singer Brooklyn Sudano and singer and model Amanda Sudano, with Bruce.
Donna’s paternal grandfather was named Solomon/Soloman Andrew “Sal” Gaines (the son of Andrew Gaines and Mandy). Solomon was born in Alabama.
Donna’s paternal grandmother was named Eula F. Hicks/Johnson. Eula was born in Alabama or Georgia.

African-Americans are not 100% Sub-Saharan African. This is known already. Stop making a big deal out of it.
In her 2003 biography, she indicates she has African, Irish, Scottish and Indian blood on both sides of her family.
Why can’t you guys get this,it means African and everything else that you are(white ,native etc).I don’t get why you can’t understand that.the majority of the black population are not full black.So your cousin is no different than anyone else in the black population,who are called African American

@Anonymous you are the dumb one African American does not mean full 100 percent African it means African plus American but majority African or at least 50%. equal to one parent. But Miss Summer looks pretty overwhelmingly African black whatever you say she is admixed with must be like 5 %. or I would never guess 20% .
