Daphne Guinness is a socialite and fashion designer, of British and Irish nationality. She is the daughter of Suzanne Lisney and peer and businessman Jonathan Guinness, 3rd Baron Moyne. She was a second cousin of model Stella Tennant, through their great-grandparents, Sydney and David Freeman-Mitford. Daphne has three children with her former husband Spyros Niarchos. Spyros is the son of Eugenia Livanos and shipping magnate Stavros Niarchos.

Daphne’s paternal grandfather was Bryan Walter Guinness, 2nd Baron Moyne (the son of Walter Edward Guinness, 1st Baron Moyne, and of Lady Evelyn Hilda Stuart Erskine). The 2nd Baron Moyne was born in London, England. The 1st Baron Moyne was born in Dublin, Ireland, and was a prominent businessperson and politician, who was Leader of the House of Lords, Secretary of State for the Colonies, and Financial Secretary to the Treasury, among other duties. He was the son of Edward Cecil Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh, who was born in St Anne’s, Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland, and of Adelaide Maria/Mary Guinness. Daphne’s great-grandmother Lady Evelyn was born in Hoppsford Hall, Coventry, England, the daughter of Shipley Gordon Stuart Erskine, 14th Earl of Buchan, and of Rosalie Louisa Sartoris, whose own mother was born in Dublin.

Daphne’s paternal grandmother was The Hon. Diana Freeman-Mitford (the daughter of David Bertram Ogilvy Freeman-Mitford, 2nd Baron Redesdale, and of Sydney Bowles). Daphne’s grandmother The Hon. Diana was born in Belgravia, Westminster, England, and was one of the well-known aristocratic siblings the Mitford sisters. The 2nd Baron Redesdale was the son of Algernon Bertram Freeman-Mitford, 1st Baron Redesdale, and of Lady Clementina/Clementine Gertrude Helen Ogilvy. Sydney was the daughter of Thomas Gibson Bowles, MP, and of Jessica Evans-Gordon.

Daphne’s maternal grandfather was Harold William “Denis” Lisney (the son of Walter Albert “Pon” Lisney and Dorothy/Dolly Wield). Dorothy was the daughter of Charles Wield and Emily Clara Sutton.
