Aloha! Some of this article’s content is inaccurate. As a member of the Ho Ohana and a genealogist, cousin Coco’s paternal kupuna kane (grandfather) was my Uncle Edmund Kaho’olauli’i “Chico” Ho. His biological parents were Annie Keonaona Kaihe Ho (my great-great-grandmother was full Kanaka ‘Oiwi) and George Lima Ho (my great-great-grandfather was full Chinese, but was born in the Kingdom of Hawaii). Uncle Edmund was the youngest of 13 children from Annie Keonaona Kaihe and George Lim Ho. Uncle Edmund’s sons are cousins, Michael, Coco’s father, and cousin, Derek. All three were and are surfing legends. Finally, yes, Coco is related to our cousin, the late Donald Tai Loy Ho, or “Don Ho.” Cousin Don was the son of James Ah You Puao Ho, the oldest sibling of the 13 Kaihe-Ho children.
Thank you.
