Chria Frantz is an American musician and record producer. He was the drummer for the bands Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club. He co-founded both with his wife, bassist Tina Weymouth. David Byrne and Jerry Harrison were also members of Talking Heads.

Chris is the son of Suzanne and Robert Lewis Frantz. He has two children with Tina.

Chris’ paternal grandfather was Charton Christopher Frantz (the son of Robert Calvin Frantz and Mary/Mollie Spor/Spore). Charton was born in Pennsylvania, and had German ancestry. Robert was the son of Abraham Frantz and Catherine Manners. Mary was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania.

Chris’ paternal grandmother was Gladys Lewis (the daughter of John Charles Lewis and Elizabeth Jane Benson). Gladys was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Canadian parents, from Newfoundland. John was the son of John C. Lewis and Julia Ann Evans. Elizabeth was the daughter of Reuben and Virtue Benson. Reuben was of mostly or entirely English descent.

Chris’ maternal grandfather was James Smoot Allen (the son of George Marshall Allen and Margaret Perrine Smoot). James was born in Washington, Kentucky, and had deep lines in the U.S. Margaret was the daughter of Hamilton Wall Smoot and Sarah Elizabeth Bacon.

Chris’ maternal grandmother was Ruth Rodgers (the daughter of John Andrew Rodgers and Beulah/Beaulah Redden). Ruth was born in Kentucky, and had deep lines in the U.S. John was the son of Silas Newton Rodgers and Susan Mary Farmer. Beulah was the daughter of Lewis Costin Redden and Laura Neale.
